Miss Venezuela Crowned Miss Universe

Miss Venezuela, Dayana Mendoza has been crowned Miss Universe 2008.The pageant was held in seaside town, Nha Trang of Vietnam today. Eighty beauty queens from all over world participated in this Pageant.She is the 57 th winner of the title.

This 22 years old, model and interior designer student received the crown from her predecessor, Riyo Mori of Japan

She told reporter once she was kidnapped in her homeland. This incident taught her to remain balanced under pressure.

Taliana Vargas of Columbia awarded as first runner up.

However, Miss USA Crystle Steward of texas tumbled down during the evening gown session but she stood up quickly and shows as if nothing had happened.

Similar incident happened with previous Miss USA in Miss Universe pageant 2007.

The show was hosted by talk show star Jerry Springer and Spice Girl Melanie Brown
