Missile Attack Kills 12 in Pakistan

Peshawar: A U.S. drone once again fired at least three missiles in the tribal area of Pakistan, killing up to 12 people among whom five are believed to be foreign fighters loyal to Al-Qaeda terrorist network.

According to local officials and residents, the attack targeted a remote village called Weladin, between South and North Waziristan, near Pak-Afghan border, where the militants have safe havens.

The latest attack comes just after the Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yosuf Raza Gilani told a Parliamentary meeting that the drone attacks were intolerable now.

Besides this, International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) chief in Afghanistan, Gen. David McKiernan, in his recent visit to Islamabad to brief the lawmakers on the security situation, refused to talk on the drones attack issue.

The drone attacks have killed a high number of militants and civilians in recent months.
