As the morning of United States Election Day 2008 had kicked off, several states had reported voting issues at the polls. There have been reports early in the morning of voting machine problems in Virginia and New Jersey. There have been reports of problems caused by rainy weather in both North Carolina and Virginia.
In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, there have been reports of GOP Representatives told to leave their polling precincts. In Palm Beach County, Florida, there have been issues of “undervotes.”
In a recent case coming from Dona Ana County, New Mexico, there is the issue of missing absentee ballots. It is revealed that there are almost 4,000 absentee ballots missing and unaccounted for.
The Bureau of Elections is currently dealing with phone calls from those that didn’t receive their ballots. The missing ballots could cause problems for Dona Ana County later today as these ballots much reach the county clerk’s office by 7PM local time.
So far, this issue has affected both Republicans and Democrats.
With this incident, New Mexico can be added to the list of states dealing with voting issues.
