Srinagar, October 16, (Scoop News)- “Mission Humanity”, a group of local volunteers led by M.Iqbal Kana, who have been involved in rescue and relief operations during the recent floods in the Valley, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Members of the group briefed the Governor about the rescue and relief work which was carried out by them during and after the floods and conveyed the difficulties faced by them and successfully resolved.
The Governor lauded the commitment and zeal with which this group has been working to arrange rescue, food items, clothing, bedding, medicines etc. and undertaking cleanliness drive in certain flood affected areas. The Governor observed that during this hour of crisis, the local people had bravely risen to the occasion and demonstrated commendable capacity and strength. He complimented all of them.
