A common trend between the ITUC and ILO is to hire short term contractors rather than full-time staff, as it allows the agencies to pay the contractors lower salaries and afford them less benefits and rights. It very hypocritical of the UN and its closest member and al, the ITUC, to criticise other countries when these two agencies take part in modern forced labour.
The Joint Inspection Unit has recommend that international organizations like ITUC and ILO should not use short term contracts on a long term bases to save money. Hopefully not all the staff positions with all the benefits and tax advantages go to people who are politically connected to highly positioned management at international organisations.
