MLB 2011: Playoff Schedule-Starting Pitchers-TV- 10-02: Series Scores

St. Louis Cardinals @ Philadelphia Phillies

Here we go, it’s playoff time and the Phillies took on the St. Louis Cardinals at home in game one. The Phillies started with Roy Halladay and after a rough first inning it was all but over, as long as the Phillies offense could come alive.

 

Roy gave up a three run jack by Lance Berkman in the first then got his rhythm and cruised the next seven innings. Now, after the first, it was time for the Phillies to catch up and win. The bats started to come alive in the fourth and the Phillies got one run back and made the score 3-1. In the sixth it was lights out as the  Phillies put up five runs for a 6-3 lead. They then added three in the seventh and another two in the eighth for a 11-3 lead.

 

In the ninth Michael Stutes came in to close it out but gave up three runs and Ryan Madson had to finish. The final was a Phillies win 11-6.

The hitting by the Phillies was spread out pretty good. Jimmy Rollins was two for four with a walk and three runs scored. Chase Utley went three for five with three runs scored. Hunter Pence had two hits and two RBI. Ryan Howard the man went one for three with a homer and four RBI. Raul Ibanez also homered, was two for
four with three RBI. Shane Victorino let loose also, going three for four with two RBI. Nice effort by all!

 

Roy Hallady gets the win and is 1-0. Roy went eight innings allowing three runs on three hits, walked one and had eight K’s.

Phillies are up 1-0 in this best of five. Here is the new drill. The Phillies are 1-0, ten wins from being World Series Champions, maximum eighteen games remaining.
