TUESDAY QUICK HITS

L.A. DODGERS @ PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

    Game two in the series and the Phillies sent Roy Oswalt to the mound to do battle with Dodgers rookie Rubby De La Rosa. The rookie lasted five innings and left with a 4-1 lead. Oswalt lasted six innings and left the game with the Phillies losing 4-1. Oswalt had a minor off night allowing four runs on eight hits, walking two with only one strikeout. The Dodger rookie gave up one run on four hits but walked five and struck out four. The walks could have spelled disaster for him  but once again the Phillies offense could not capitalize and ended up with a lone  run against him. The final score was 6-2 in game that the Phillies lost and sorry to say, deserved to lose.
 

 

    The Phillies managed two runs on a total of five hits and they had two errors. Wilson Valdez was two for four and Utley, Ibanez, and Ruiz each had one hit. Once again for the the offense ‘that’s

all folks’.

    To add to the Phillies woes Oswalt (3-4) has now lost his fourth straight game and has no wins since April 21. Cole Hamels will take the mound on Wednesday for the Phillies in game three and I’m looking for everyone to show up.

    Rubby De La Rosa (2-0) gets the win. The Dodgers had ten hits including a  homer from Matt Kemp his seventeenth of the season. Dee Gordon went three for five. L.A also had two doubles one each from Matt Kemp and Juan Uribe.
 

    The Phillies have now lost five of six and go to 36-25, the Dodgers are 29-33.
