PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES @ FLORIDA MARLINS

The Marlins avoided a sweep by the Phillies by beating them in ten innings 7-6. The Marlins were down four to nothing but fought back and got the win with a walk-off home run from Mike Stanton.

The Phillies posted three home runs, Jimmy Rollins hit his eighth and John Mayberry nailed two for seven on the year. Mayberry went two for four and had three RBI. Raul Ibanez was one for five with two RBI.The Phillies totaled nine hits with five for extra bases, three homers and two doubles. But it was not enough and they collect their 33rd loss of the year.
 

Kyle Kendrick started for the Phillies and went five innings allowing three runs, one earned on seven hits. David Herndon pitched 0.2 innings giving up two runs on three hits. Drew Carpenter gets a blown save allowing one run two hits in 1.1 innings. Michael Stutes was his steady self pitching one inning and giving up one hit. Danys Baez (2-4) gets the loss pitching 1.1 inning and allowing the winning run for Florida.

Edward Mujica (6-2) gets the win for Florida pitching a perfect tenth.

Philadelphia is now 55-33 and Florida goes to 39-48. Day off for the Phillies, they will tangle with the hot Braves on Friday.
