Three National League pitchers have twelve wins and Philadelphia owns two of the three as Roy Halladay joined teammate Cole Hamels with twelve wins by beating the Padres 5-3. Halladay’s record is now 12-4 this season. Today Roy went eight innings allowing two runs on eight hits, walking one with eight K’s. Antonio Bastardo pitched a perfect ninth and collected his eighth save of the year.

The Phillies had five runs on eight hits, Raul Ibanez and Ryan Howard each had two, Ibanez also had two RBI as did Carlos Ruiz.

San Diego starter Tim Stauffer (6-7) gets the loss, he went 5.2 innings allowing five runs on eight hits.

The Phillies have now won nine series in a row and go for the four game sweep on Monday afternoon. Cliff Lee will be on the mound for the Phillies and Aaron  Harang gets the start for San Diego.
 

Philadelphia reaches the 100 game mark for the 2011 season with a record of 64-36. The Padres are 44-58.
