PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES @ WASHINGTON NATIONALS

Philadelphia tied the series with the Nationals at one-one with a 5-0 win and Roy Oswalt on his game. Roy pitched eight shutout innings for the win. Michael Stutes took care of the ninth and the Phillies recorded their fifteenth shutout of the year.

Roy did eight shutout innings allowing eight hits, one walk and had nine K’s. His record is now 6-7.

The Phillies had five runs on nine hits and seven walks. Jimmy Rollins went two for four with a walk and two RBI. Wilson Valdez had two RBI going one for four with a walk and Hunter Pence had the other RBI with a solo home run. John Mayberry Jr. continued his hitting ways going two for four and Carlos Ruiz was two for three.

John Lannan continued his losing ways against the Phillies and is now 1-12 for his career. John is now 6-7 this season after tonight’s loss.

Rubber match on Sunday with Roy Halladay on the mound for the Phillies. Halladay is 3-0 this season against Washington and has a career record of 11-1.

The Phillies are now 81-43 and the Nationals 60-64.
