PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES @ FLORIDA MARLINS

The Phillies entered today’s game needing a win to set a franchise record. They did win and are now 42 games above .500 for the first time in their 129 year history.
 

Roy Oswalt (7-8) started for the Phillies and gets the win. Roy looked much better in this start going 6.1 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, walking one, with seven K’s. Oswalt had lost to the Marlins a week ago. This week a 5-3 win.
Michael Stutes and Antonio Bastardo finished the seventh and eighth allowing  no hits. Ryan Madson took care of the ninth and collects his 27th save in 29 chances.

John Mayberry Jr. nailed his thirteenth homer of the season good for two RBI and collected one more with a sacrifice fly. The Phillies only had seven hits but managed six walks to help their cause.
 

Brad Hand was the starter for Florida, takes the loss and is now 1-5 this season.

Philadelphia is now 88-46, twelve more wins to hit 100. They are 5-0 in their  "Final 33" run.
