Game 2
10/20/2011
Texas at St. Louis
Game two of the World Series in St. Louis and the Cardinals were looking to go up two games to none before leaving their friendly home and heading for Texas for the next three games starting on Saturday.
Game one was a low scoring affair with the Cardinals winning 3-2. In game two it was even tighter. Through six innings the game was scoreless each team had two hits and both starting pitchers were still on the mound.
In the seventh inning the Cardinals broke through with a run and took the 1-0 lead into the top of the ninth.
With three outs left in the game Texas finally found their game with singles stolen bases and sacrifice fly balls. A pitching change here and there by Cardinals manager La Russa that did not work this time also helped Texas. Up until the ninth inning of last night’s game he has been great with most of his pitching moves against Philadelphia and with Milwaukee. When the smoke cleared Texas was up 2-1 and held on for the win.
