PM Thanked for announcing different mega projects during his visit after earthquake.

CHITRAL: Addressing a press conference at Chitral along with representatives of Garam Chashma, Kalash Valleys and Sub Division Mastuj, MNA Chitral Shahzada Iftikhar Uddin thanked the Prime Minister of Pakistan for approving mega road projects for the three areas that were to be constructed through the NHA. The MNA said the PM has won the battle for the hearts and minds of the Chitrali people in the worst disasters of Chitral’s entire history and resultantly has emerged as a real statesman. The floods had rendered 8000 people homeless followed by the earthquake that has rendered another 28000 people homeless since nearly 6000 households were destroyed between the twin disasters. A total of 36000 people thus become shelter less and the PMs timely visits to Chitral both during the July floods and Oct 26th earthquake has endeared the PM to the people and earned him a special in the hearts of the Chitral people. The MNA thanked the PM for approving 30MW electricity from Golen Gol for the District besides approving up-gradation of Chitral,s Towns WAPDA Power House from 1 to 5 MW. The electricity and road projects will usher in a new era of prosperity and progress in the remote but largest district of KPK that also accounts for one fourth of the landmass of the province.
Shahzada Iftikhar said that at no point had the PM made him feel alone by accepting all of his demands including an 800 percent increase in allocations for Lawari Tunnel from 50 crores per year to 6 billion per year in addition to allocating Rs. 3.4 billion for mobile towers and fibre optic at his request by instantly issuing directives replying to letters he addressed to the PM. Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Alam thanked the PM for approval of roads for the Kalash Valleys. Abdul Qayyum Member District Council representing Garam Chashma thanked the PM for the Garam Chashma Road and Kashafat Younas thanked him for the Chitral to Shandoor Road. All these demands were long awaited by the people of Chitral.
