Srinagar, January 19 (Scoop News) –Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon had made an appeal to mobile companies operating in Kashmir to provide support to the Divisional Administration Kashmir for communication support in the snow clearance machines.
Aircel responded and at a simple function held today in the Divisional Commissioner Office, the Zonal Head of Aircel Akhtar Jeelani, Marketing Head Ajay Khajuria of AIRCEL presented 100 prepaid SIM cards to Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir in presence of Chief Engineer Mechanical Engineering Kashmir Mohammed Rafiq Wani, Head Disaster Management Kashmir Aamir Ali and I/c Snow Control Room Mohammed Latief Paswal.
These SIM cards have been presented by AIRCEL as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility and will be distributed amongst the operators of Snow clearance machines, so that they remain constantly in touch with their Snow Control room and can perform their duties in a better and more efficient manner.
Meanwhile Aamir Ali, Coordinator Disaster Management said that Kargil Courier operated today and 248 passengers were airlifted. Due to unfavourable weather conditions the Kargil Courier had not operated, as such many passengers were stranded at Kargil, Srinagar as well as Jammu.
Today the air force AN-32 Kargil Courier Service operated and 71 passengers were airlifted from Kargil to Srinagar, 36 passengers from Kargil to Jammu, 86 passengers from Srinagar to Kargil and 55 passengers from Jammu to Kargil.
Next flight will operate on 20th January between Kargil/Srinagar and on 25th January between Kargil/Jammu.
