Poonch November 6, (Scoop News)_A national integration tour named ‘Carvan-e-Aman” organised under Sadbhavna initiatives for 22 Maulvies and village elders from remote villages of Surankote was flagged off on Thursday by commander, sector Rashtriya Rifles from Surankote, a defence spokesman said.
The tour will be visiting Delhi, Meerut and Agra over a period of ten days, he added.
The spokesman said the tourists will visit places of historical, religious and educational importance such as, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Loutus Temple, Shanti Sthal, India Gate, Akshardham Mandir, Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri, Indira Gandhi International Airport and Vasant Valley International School.
The elders would also be provided an opportunity to interact with important personalities like the President of India and Chief of ArmyStaff during the tour, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Commander , Sector Rashtriya Rifles said that the tour aims to provide the elders an opportunity to see the vast diaspora of culture, economical growth, and modernization in the rest of the country which will widen their horizon and also have an impact on the socio economic development of the state as a whole.
The excitement among the village elders was early visible as most of them were moving out of the region for the first time.
Mohd Aslam Nawaz expressed his gratitude to the Indian army for giving him an opportunity of lifetime which would broaden his horizon and give him an opportunity that he could not have afforded on his own.
