Jammu/New Delhi, December 04 (Vijay Kumar) – After 180 sleepless nights, Indian scientest Kuldeep Wali’s family is finally at ease today when they received mortal remains of Kuldeep Wali, who died in Antarctica on June 1st June 2009 at Indian Research Base Maitri, Antarctica in service to the nation.He was cremated in Antartica on June 9 and became the continent’s first cremation.
Shiban Kishan Wali the younger brother of Kuldeep told Groundreport that mortal remains of Kuldeep Wali have brought back today from Antarctica for his last journey and kept for darshan at India Meteorological Complex in International Airport New Delhi before proceeding to Haridwar.

Wali is survived by his mother, wife Reeta Wali and a daughter.
India Meteorological department officals told Groundreport that “Wali’s contributions to Antarctic science will always be admired by future generations. He will always remain in the hearts of fellow Antarcticans and remembered with fondness.”
