A 33-YEAR-OLD woman has been stabbed in the hand with a 45cm knife while she cradled her three-month old baby girl.
The mother told police she was sitting on a couch at a Gap Road residence in Alice Springs on Saturday, holding her daughter, when her 29-year-old partner attacked her during an argument.
The woman fled the house shortly after 3pm (CST) on Saturday with her baby and collapsed outside.
Police and ambulance were called and the woman was taken to hospital where she underwent surgery for the stab wound. The baby was unharmed.
A man has been charged with aggravated assault and recklessly endangering life and bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on November 23.
