Srinagar/Bijbehara, February 18 (Scoop News) –Renowned Islamic Scholar of the state, Alhaj Moulana Ghulam Rasool Imam passed away at his residence at Bijbehara.
Popularly remembered as Khateeb-e-Millat, he has also been the Principal Islamic Research Institute, Anantnag besides being associated with many religious and social organizations. He worked tirelessly for spreading religious education among masses in South Kashmir and had a long stint with the Anjuman e Tabligul Islam as well.
The Chahrum of late Moulana would be held on Monday, February 20 at 10 am at his ancestral graveyard at Bijbehara, Kashmir.
The death of late Imam has been widely mourned.
Director, Information & Public Relations, Khawaja Farooq Renzushah in his condolence message has described him as an outstanding Islamic scholar who made a lot of contribution in the spread of Islamic teachings in the length and breadth of the state. He said late Moulana was a beacon light of the mission laid out by the Awlia-e-Kiram and sufi saints of Kashmir.
President, J&K Peace Foundation, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat has also condoled the demise of late Moulana describing him a practicing scholar who illuminated lakhs of hearts in Kashmir.
