At least nine persons have been confirmed dead and more than three dozen others are injured in Mt Manaslu avalanche. So far, bodies of six foreign nationals and a Nepali have been identified. Although the exact number of the missing persons is yet to be established, 3 of the missing climbers have been identified as Dominique Ouimet of Canada, Remy Georges Lecluse and Gregory Ugocosta of France.
Authorities informed that the 5 survivors who were rescued and brought to Kathmandu are Xavier Logean from Switzerland, Andre Massonet, Bernard Amiques, Arnauld De Fochier and Marc Poncin from France.
Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, deputy superintendent of police of Gorkha said that two helicopters of Fishtail Air and another of Simrik Air have flown from Kathmandu, the capital, and reached the incident site to resume search and rescue operation after being halted on Sunday due to bad weather.
