A mountain lion entered into house through an open door snatched a pet dog from bedroom where owners were sleeping. The mountain lion left the dog’s dead body outside
The incident was occurred in a house 14 miles southeast of Denver.
Wildlife official latter trapped the mountain lion using dogs dead body as a trap and shoot it.
Colorado Division of Wildlife spokesman Tyler Baskfield said the cat entered the house through open French doors early Monday and fled with the Labrador after the owners woke up.
"The people got up and looked around and saw the mountain lion’s tail leaving the house," Baskfield said.
Mack and Jackie Anderson told the Denver television that the mountain lion killed their pet, Scout, a 12 years Labrador. Another dog that was also sleeping in the room was left unharmed. They also told that they were awakened by a noise. Soon they realized that there is a mountain lion in their room and their beloved pet was in its mouth.
The owner agreed to use the dog’s dead body as a bait.
Colorado has an estimated 3,000 to 7,000 mountain lions.
