Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli has revealed that Victoria Beckham requested him to “ give her hips" for her outfits on the Spice Girls comeback tour.
The haute couture designer told Grazia magazine Posh Spice was the most "daring" in her outfit requests because she wanted to experiment. "Her only request was that we give her hips," Cavalli said of the small-framed Spice Girl.
The designer said he asked each band member about their bodies and what they wanted to show and hide, as well as how they had evolved since the group was last together.
"We updated Geri’s (Halliwell) iconic Union Jack dress into a corseted Swarovski crystal studded mini-dress," he said.
Melanie B was very strong and assertive, the designer to the stars said. “Oh my, she was very hard work," he said. "I had to change her outfits twice. She wanted shiny, body-conscious clothes, and animal prints…."he added.
"Because Melanie C is the main vocalist, she wanted to be more rock chick than sporty — so for her, more trousers," he said.
New mother Emma Bunton wanted to cover up more for her Baby Spice costumes, Cavalli said.
Coming together for the first time in nearly a decade, the girl band said their reunion tour was "like therapy" and had been a healing experience for them.
The worldwide tour kicked off last week in Vancouver and received positive reviews.
