1888 Press Release – Micro Play-Break games may change the way people think about gaming. They can be played nearly anywhere, in minutes, and easily carried inside a wallet. A Kickstarter campaign is underway to bring the first of these games to life and supporters can hardly wait.
Houston, TX – What if games were something more than just a fun distraction, but something that could be a real stress relief that could take place quickly at really anytime during the day or night when two friends were together? Like during a break at work or school? That’s the compelling idea that the new card and board game company MSP Games LLC are presenting and they have turned to the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to make their first game “Micro Play-Break: Castles” into a reality. According to the company, the thought of a game that’s “with you while you’re waiting” is an idea whose time has come.
“What really sets this game apart is that the game is made up of a small quantity of highly durable materials, meaning Micro Play-Break: Castles can be with you everywhere, even when you aren’t specifically intending to carry around a game, by easily fitting into a single credit-card slot of your wallet….making this a truly portable game,” commented Matt Pohl, the game’s designer. “This makes it perfect for creating a Play-Break in your day nearly anywhere: waiting at a restaurant, in line for concert tickets, on your short coffee break, between meetings at the office, waiting at the theater for the show to start, on an airplane, in the doctor’s waiting room… nearly anywhere!”
The rules of “Micro Play-Break: Castles” are very easy for most people to learn, and a sample of the game play is even featured both in graphic form and as a video on the Kickstarter page for the project. This isn’t to say it’s not innovative, according to the company, the game is quite unique and is only the first of a planned series that will build and expand the concept of micro-play break card games as time goes on.
The crowdfunding campaign has set a goal of $2500 and lasts until Tuesday, August 12th. The project will only be funded if the $2500 goal is met.
Interesting perks have been established for donors, including copies of the first run of “Micro Play-Breaks: Castles” and other exciting possibilities depending on the amount of money the donor chooses to invest in the project.
The idea of play-break games is being met with enthusiasm.
Emily G., a writer from Boston recently remarked, “I find the whole philosophy behind MSP Games really interesting and exciting, so of course I’m going to donate. There’s something about card and board games that have always brought people together so having the chance to do it really anytime and anyplace is just totally appealing. This is one Kickstarter that could really be the beginning of something truly special.”
