Srinagar, May 10 (Scoop News) – With a view to showcase adventure and varied tourism potential across
Mughal Road and other tourist circuits connected with the inter-regional link, the second Mughal Road Motor Rally would be conducted on June 25 to 28 this year.This decision was taken at a high level meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for Tourism & Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora here today.
The 3-day Motor Rally event is organized by Himalayan Motor Sports Association, Shimla in sponsorship with State Tourism Department. Over 50 Motor Sports teams of the country would participate in this mega event.
During the meeting, threadbare deliberations were held on the agenda points to make the event a grand success for attracting worldwide adventure lovers to Jammu and Kashmir, ‘the Paradise on Earth’ .
The senior officers of civil and police departments including Commissioner Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Atul Dullo, Additional Director General of Police, Security, S. Gopal Reddy, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Inspector General of Police, Traffic, H. K. Lohiya, Chief Conservator Wild Life, Hafizullah Sidiqi, Additional Commissioner, Kashmir, Abdul Majid Mir, Director Tourism, Kashmir, Farooq Ahmed Shah, Director Tourism, Jammu, R. S. Mehta, Special Secretary, Tourism, Altaf Hussain, Special Secretary Health & Medical Education, senior officers of R&B and other civil and police departments besides President Himalayan Motor Sports Association, Shimla, Vijay Parmar attended the meeting.
The President, Himalayan Motor Sports Association, apprised the meeting about pros and cons of the rally and gave an account of the arrangements required for the successful conduct of second Mughal Road Rally from the concerned departments. He sought full cooperation from the state administration to make the event a success like last year’s Mughal Road Motor Rally.
The concerned authorities assured their full cooperation besides all possible facilities to the rallyists during the event days.
Jora underscored the need for pro-active publicity and focused campaign to promote adventure tourism at a large scale along
Mughal Road and other tourist circuits connected to this historical road.The Minister impressed upon all the concerned authorities for ensuring fool-proof arrangements for the rally and stressed on close coordination between civil and police administration for providing necessary logistic support to the rallyists.
