"No Miramos Nada" by Laura Lopez Castro on youtube
If you can imagine yourself one Sunday afternoon enjoying a cup of coffee at a cafe, either alone or in the company of someone, allowing time to pass by without any worries, then you can imagine yourself in a state of tranquility.
Laura Lopez Castro is someone whose music is not overwhelming but relaxing. There are no surprises to expect in any of her studio albums. Lopez Castro’s voice allows you to drift in and out of a muscial coma which is not a negative in this case.
Listening to her most recent album: Laura Lopez Castro & Don Philippe Inventan El Ser Feliz, is like listening to lullabies for adults. This is not to say that her music is childish. It is soothing, gentle, and dreamy.
One response I have received from a listener, whom I had asked to listen to he album, was very pleased with my recommendation. According to the listener, she felt as relaxed as she would be during a yoga session only there was no monotony in listening to Lopez Castro.
Another thought to leave you with: See yourself wandering the lonely, open meadows and hills of Spain’s countryside; The sky a tender, ocean blue and the rolling clouds, sparkling white’s; Walking with the breeze and holding a glass of your most adored wine, all the while listening to "Dindi" on your mp3.

"Pienso En Ti" MAW feat. Luis Salinas on youtube
I consider myself fortunate for having been able to experience the 1990’s New York house music scene. I was only a teen but I still remember the great music I was exposed to. A close friend of mine had a brother who was very devoted to house music during the 90’s and one song that I remember from MAW is "I Can’t Get No Sleep" feat. La India.
For any NY, any devoted fan to house music during the 90’s, MAW was essential. Their music, their mixes, their collaborations with other musicians was impressive. Although they are still going strong with the mixing, they have, as of yet, not released another studio album since Our Time Is Coming (2001).
Another song that has stuck with me, by MAW, is "Pienso En Ti" (House Mix), which is a single that is a rarity. The duo, Kenny Gonzales & Louie Vega, do not lose their touch as their music progresses with time and this house mix is a great example.
If you missed out on the 90’s NY house music, there is still time to catch up with MAW. House music, especially produced and mixed by MAW will continue to succeed.
