My Heart Fresh As The Time…

Barbara’s Poetry From The Heart Corner

Years ago he walked away
stole my heart…took it at bay.
The moon grimaces
stars lose their glitter and gaiety.
Ghosts kept my spirit active
left heartaches to survive.

He robbed my courage and strength
I struggled…weak and limp.
A broken heart is hard to heal
left it cold and without a will.
Scars sealed in the core of my soul
forsaken and searching…desire a whole.

His reason for leaving… known by him
left me helpless and wanting to win.
No words spoken…he walked out the door
no indicator our love didn’t exist anymore.
An abandoned child wept on a doorstep
powerless, anxious and forsook to fret.

A piece of my spirit departed that day
caused suffering and to find my way.
My heart fresh as the time…
he left me in a terrible bind.
No patch covers the blemish
feel a blank like I am finished.
