Pamela Keya, a community health worker  says that this outreach is being done to get people to come out and know their HIV/AIDS status, raise awareness of the long term methods of family planning and importance of breastfeeding.  In the door to door practice she says that one is supposed to capture atleast 100 households. The community health workers are 25 whereby 5 of them are trained in family planning. This outreach was started in November last year where the community haelth workers were trained and is usually done on monthly basis.
She says that the outreach has been made possible and easier by the intervention of organisations such as Aphia Plus,USAID and the TUJIPANGE crew whereby they provide them with bicycles that make areas accessible, artime and such essentials. The campaign is set to end today as they plan for next month’s.
