The central UPA government has not left any stone unturned to make a mockery of itself. They have tried everything from relentlessly allowing their party leaders from making controversial statements to making a joke out of the poor person’s misery in India. They have tried introducing the food security bill for 60-70 percent population of India while stating the poverty has reduced to a meager 22 percent. They have used all their tools right from their version of secularism to giving fair trials to alleged terrorists in a hope of pleasing minorities. By doing all this, one thing that they have forgotten is that food, clothing and shelter have becoming the crying need of the hour for every Indian whether rich or poor. Everyone is sailing in the same boat for one or another reason.
UPA government had already become successful in shutting down businesses, trades and making Arcelor Mittal and Posco flee from India instead of putting up any project. Now, they have also tried shutting down a restaurant for writing anti-UPA government statements on the bottom of the food bill. This might remind you of Mrs. Indira Gandhi’s emergency. Their leaders have gone to the length of saying that a full meal in the Metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai are as cheap as Rs.12 -Rs.5. Union Minister Mr.Farooq Abdullah has claimed to get a meal for Re.1. All this to justify the newly proclaimed “declined percentage of poverty” in India. The prime reflection of the UPA government’s finance policy failure is the escalating value of US dollar, increasing inflation and fuel prices. Not to forget all this adding to a failing economy that was once a great contender of the global reality show known as “Who will be the next Superpower?”
The competition was between China and India, in fact China had started taking lessons from India’s economic policy. Now, China seems to have relaxed, in fact, to such an extent that it is now stretching borders.
But all these things are not a matter of concern for the UPA government. They have not been able to adjudge a party spokesperson as yet. They are not even sure in which direction they are heading. The Indian Prime Minister has gone into a shell and has refused to answer tough questions. The failing economy of this country has been mocked at by the recent 22 percent poverty report given by the planning commission. At such a time, in this pre-election year, the people of India are looking forward for a change. The change being industrial growth, control on inflation and better opportunities. The example for them is the “Gujarat State” ruled by the most feared or most competent Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
The opposition who is also the ruling party, Congress, has gone crying fowl in all directions to malign Modi. It is likely that they will not leave any stone unturned till the day of elections. In his reign from 2001 the state of Gujarat has seen a makeover. He has made Asia’s biggest solar project. He has improved the education, infrastucture and industrial face of Gujarat. Gujarat has become a haven for businessmen and people who want to make it big.
All these stories had been coming to me from known and unknown sources. But for some oppositions and pseudo-skeptics reality is hard to digest. So, I decided to discuss it with the locals of Gujarat. Taking a fair review from the people who live in rural Gujarat to those who live in the urban area.
I came down to a conclusion that indeed the work has been done the way it has been said. I personally interviewed a local from Gujarat. I asked him the following questions:
1. Some people are of the opinion that Gujarat progresses on it’s own what’s your take? Meaning with or without Narendra Modi Gujarati’s were always progressing.
Ans: Earlier we had to go to different cities for better opportunities but now people from different cities come over here. Even those who had left Gujarat are coming back for a better life.
2. Gujarat before Modi is better or Gujarat with Modi is better?
Ans. After Modi, his administration skill is good.
3. What do you think about Secularism?
Ans. There is no problem here at present.
4. How is Gujarat?
Ans. Mast (excellent)
5. Do you think it has actually progressed? Please answer without your love for Narendra Modi.
Ans. Yes!
6. On what grounds can you say that?
Ans. Before Modi we had electricity cut (load shedding) for two days in a week
Now no electricity cut.
7. How about the roads?
Ans. Before Modi road conditions were bad for interior villages, but now the roads are smooth for any vehicle.
As for my personal observation of the Narmada river, I saw that it has been restored to it’s original glory. The banks are luscious green carpets and beautiful than ever. I wish the same happens to Meethi river, Yamuna and even for the Ganga. These rivers have become mute victims of atrocity, corruption and greed of the government bodies.
The chief minister of Gujarat has provided jobs to the families of the tribals living near the Narmada river. They have also received formal education for tourism industry. Some of my friends have gone back to their native places in Gujarat for better opportunities. Modi government has seen that no further mischief happens in the state post 2002. It is a place where people from all communities and castes are given fair opportunities to progress.
Some critics are of the view whether it is the Nobel laureate Amartya Sen or others, that Narendra Modi will be a bad influence for secularism. Perhaps, the present government whose nucleus the Congress party is responsible for the murder of 5000 sikhs during the riots of 1984 is a excellent example of harmony. On top of it, they endorse a failing economy, manipulated poverty line, fraud schemes, sky-rocketing inflation, hit-me on the face security policy and clean-chit to corruption.
Opportunities to the Congress party have been enormous from the inception of Indian freedom. They have ruled for 60 yrs, NDA for hardly 5-6 years. Narendra Modi has the right to make his debut as a Prime Minister of India. He has a report card of better economy, administration, progress, education and opportunities to show. The report card has been attested by critics and by the personal observation of skeptical minds like me. As a matter of fact, a one with no partisan politics in mind would give Gujarat a five-star without hesitation.
Now, there is just a wait to see Narendra Modi as the PM of India. To wait to experience the turning of a dream into a reality. To see this country reflecting the glory and prosperity of Gujarat. Hopefully, the Indians will vote for the best which Narendra Modi is, if not for national interest then at least for self-interest. It is our duty to get rid of the heartless bad governance and pave the way to a happy, progressive and competitive India.
Perhaps, for our own good that will ensure the bright healthy future of our coming generations.
