MPA briefed about progress of NCHD Chitral.

 

CHITRAL: Elected Member Provincial Assembly from Chitral Haji Ghulam Muhammad was briefed regarding progress of National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) performance during his visit to NCHD office Chitral on Friday. He was briefed by General Manager of NCHD Salahuddin about 5 programs running by NCHD. Like Basic Education is right of all, Adult Education program, Basic Health, Volunteers programs for social development and Capacity Development Program. Talking to PMA Chitral General Manager Salahuddin said that due to endeavors of NCHD enrollment in schools at primary level has been enhanced from 62% to 95%. Some 4350 persons have been registered under volunteer program for social development that play vital role to support needy people on volunteer basis. Similarly NCHD held 3 Free Medical Camp at Arandu (Pak Afghan Border village), Sheshi koh and Snoghur. 10 Doctors of Chitral examined hundred of patients free of cost. Medicines wroth 135000 were distributed free of cost to poor patients in these medical camps.

 

2000 patients were provided free treatment and 60 patients were donated blood. From the fund Local philanthropists medicines of rupees 246000 distributed. General Manager said while explaining about health education he said that NCHD staff create awareness regarding diarrhea and other infectious diseases and train house wives. Some 53000 house wives have been trained in this regard. As well as 11134 female haven graduated under Adult education program. For this purpose NCHD have been established 513 centers by employing of 689 girls. MPA Chitral expressed his satisfactory over best performance of NCHD and announced rupees 6000 for Volunteer Desk for 2 months at DHQ Hospital Chitral.
