Srinagar ,October 26 (Scoop News)-The National conference today evening hit back at Swami Agnivesh asking him to reread Omar Abdullah’s speech before issuing irresponsible statements
“The Self proclaimed Swamy is so distant from and unaware of what’s happening in Kashmir and Omar Abdullah’s speech that his shallow positions, and absurd remark needed to be set right” said Tanvir Sadiq, Political Secretary to Omar Abdullah adding “ Swami Agnivesh has this habit of issuing irresponsible statements and reckless words that no wonder that the Honorable Supreme court Justice had pulled him up earlier also for issuing such bizarre statements”
Calling his twisting of statement as unfortunate Tanvir said “Its is very evident that he is trying to appease few people who he has been friends with, While they are the real hate mongers and inimical to peace here in the valley, but no matter how much they twist the actual statement, lies will never become truth even though it may be spoken umpteen times” said Tanvir
Stating that Omar Abdullah whether inside the Parliament, as the Opposition Leader or now even as Chief Minister has all along advocated dialogue and peace with Pakistan Tanvir said “The peace that is prevalent right now is because of the efforts of Omar Abdullah”
While he has never spoken about War with Pakistan, He has maintained that It cannot be a situation where we are at the receiving end and no response is given” said Tanvir adding ” that the Chief Minister had said that no one in Jammu and Kashmir or in the country is in favour of war as the wars are no solution to any issue”
Tanvir said that the Chief Minister had very clearly said that the shelling by Pakistan on the villages in Jammu and other areas has made him seriously concerned about the life of people living in frontier areas and such a situation is unacceptable,” said Tanvir
Stating that there are forces that have always been inimical to the interests of Jammu and Kashmir and have always tried to derail any peace process that is sought to be initiated Tanvir said “They have sought to keep the turmoil in the state on. This is another step in that direction,”
