Srinagar, July 6 (Scoop News)- Asserting that National Conference is the Identity of Jammu and Kashmir, which has offered supreme sacrifices for the cause of people, the senior National Conference Leader and Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs Mr, Abdul Rahim Rather today called upon the people to defeat all those political parties which are playing in the hands of agencies to Gog the voice of people.
Addressing a mammoth public gathering at Waterhail in district Budgam today, Rather said that the National Conference has come into being to solve the problems and hardships of the people. He said National Conference is a movement which has given not only socio-economic freedom to the people of the State but political freedom also.
The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister for Higher Education, Mr Mohammad Akbar Lone, Acting General Secretary National Conference, Dr Mustafa Kamal, Former Minister and Provisional President National conference, Nasir Aslam Wani and other Leaders of the organization also spoke on the occasion.
Mr Rather said National Conference gave freedom to the people from the slavery in 1947 and its patron Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah enacted agrarian reforms and made the farmers proprietor of the land they cultivated by enacting land to tillers Act.
Mr Rather cautioned the people about the enemies of National Conference, who on the behest of their mentors, are hatching conspiracies from day one against this people’s movement just to Gog their voice by dividing them into smaller political groups with ulterior motives. “such political parties have in past also hatched conspiracies against National Conference and are today also hell bend to weaken it”, Mr Rather said while asking the people to be vigilant about the machinations of the opposition parties. He said National conference is the only political party in Jammu and Kashmir which has a clear vision about the future of the State.
Seeking people’s support to strengthening hands of Chief Minister, Mr Omar Abdullah, Mr Rather said this dynamic and far sighted leader possess all the qualities of his grand-father, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and has a clear vision to put the State on sustainable road to socio-economic prosperity and growth. He said development, welfare and empowerment are the key objectives flagged by the present Government to make the State future-ready. He said the present Government has accelerated the pace of development to drive the growth of Jammu and Kashmir to new heights.
Mr Sagar also highlighted the significance of National Conference in the political arena of the State and said that National Conference is a people’s movement which brought political and social awakening among the people of the State. He said Sher-i-Kashmir is the architect of modern Jammu and Kashmir who brought education at the door steps of common masses and strengthened the values of secularism and democracy in the State.
Responding to the pleas of the locals, Mr Sagar assured that Sukh Nag and Waterhail villages will be given block status on priority at an appropriate time. He also appealed the people to strengthen the National Conference.
The Higher Education Minister announced to open a Government Degree College at Waterhail adding that the place has a central status in the area besides being a Kandi and hilly belt.
