Guntur (GR-TYP-BIN): Senior media leader Mr. Devulapalli Amar slammed the national media for not highlighting the all-important issue of according special status to Andhra Pradesh. He expressed distress over the national media ignoring the six-day long fast of YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking after calling on YS Jagan at his fast camp on October 12, Amar said special status would bring in rapid development and drive away unemployment. He said all major parties including the Congress, then in power at the Centre, and the BJP, then in opposition, had assured that special status would be given to the state, but have since backtracked.
He said the Centre would realize the importance of the agitation, only when the national media highlights the agitation. He said he failed to understand why the issue was being pushed under the carpet. “YS Jagan’s health condition is worsening and the state and the central governments should respond immediately. After all, YS Jagan has been fighting for the benefit of Andhra Pradesh”, Amar added.
