National seminar on the “life and works of Sadat Hassan Manto”

Jammu, August 27 (Scoop News) –  The Two day National seminar on the “life and works of Sadat Hassan Manto” organized by Centre for Professional Studies in Urdu in collaboration with National council for Promotion of Urdu language , New Delhi  and Department of Urdu, University of Jammu concluded  with valedictory function. The valedictory function was presided over by Former vice chancellor Kashmir University Prof. Reyaz Punjabi. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik Director Center for Professional Studies in Urdu and Kishtwar Campus and Prof. Ali Javeed also shared the presidium. The speakers on the occasion described the seminar a most successful one. They said that the paper which were presented in the seminar were of high quality on the life and works of Sadat Hassan Manto.

            In his address Prof. Reyaz Punjabi emphasized to organize more and more activities on Sadat Hassan Manto in the coming days . He described Manto a generous Short story writer and congratulated Centre for Professional Studies in Urdu for organizing three successful seminar during the last two months.

Prof. Ali Javeed too threw light on the Art of Sadat Hassan Manto and describe the two day seminar a successful one. He hoped that the papers presented in the seminar would be published in a book form so that new generation could know the life and works of Sadat Hassan Manto.

            Earlier three academic session were held in which Dr Khawaja Ekram, Dr Ghulam Nabi kheyal, Dr Ali javeed, Dr Aqeel Sheikh, Prof. Qudoes Javed, Prof. Majeed Muzmer , Prof. Reeta Jatinder, Dr Khalid Ashraf, Dr Farat Rizwi presented their thought provoking papers on different dimensions of Sadat Hassan Manto.

            In his speech Director Center for Professional Studies in Urdu Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik thanked all the participants for making the event a successful one. He announced that all the papers presented in the seminar would be published in a book form. He informed that one day national seminar on the “Problems and solution of Urdu language in J&K” would be organized on 11th of November 2012 at Kishtwar Campus of Jammu University.  The proceeding of the seminar were conducted by the Dr Farat Shamim Asstt Professor of department of Urdu, University of Jammu, Dr Abdul Rashid Manhas Asstt Professor , Dr Chaman lal Asstt Professor .  A large number of students, scholars and teachers of the different department , poets, writers attended the two day National seminar.
