Cyclist calls on Prime Minister
New Delhi (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): Mr. Abhishek Kumar Sharma, a youth who is undertaking a nationwide cycle yatra to generate awareness about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, called on the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi on March 16.
Abhishek said that he was inspired by the Prime Minister`s call for Swachh Bharat, to undertake such a journey to motivate people towards this cause. He has so far travelled 4500 km across eight states, covering nearly 5000 villages and 350 towns, talking to people on the subject of cleanliness. He said that he will devote an entire year to the cause of Swachh Bharat.
The Prime Minister complimented Abhishek for his unique effort, and wished him well for his future endeavours.
The participation of people in Clean India drive has made the initiative of government successful in the country. The Clean India drive is being undertaken by all public and private institutions to fulfil the vision of Prime Minister of India and to spread the message that cleaning is the individual responsibility. The drive is expected to bring about a significant change in the country and it is yielding results gradually.
