Police seized liquor in local factory.
CHITRAL: Lutoko police confiscated local wine and arrested accused person from a local wine factory. According to SHO police station Lutkoh Ali Murad Khan Lutkoh police was informed by source that Syed Babar Shah preparing wine (liquor) in a local factory at his house police team under supervision of SHO Ali Murad Khan raided on the house of Syed Babar Shah and took in posses’ 35 liters liquor with other equipments using in wine preparation and arrested the accused person. Police lodged report against the Babar Shah and started investigation.
Nazim urged expedition work on Athak irrigation channel.
A meeting was held here at Kosht village under the chair of Ameer Khan Jalali Nazim Union Council Kosht which was attended by a large number of elites of the area and councilors of the UC. It was discussed by the participants as snow has been melted earlier this year on the site of Athak irrigation channel and proposed tunnel. But irrigation department not started work on the said project. They also expressed their great concern over delay on excavation of a tunnel for this irrigation channel despite that it has been budded last year and contract has been given to contractor through tender but practical work is still awaited. As well as it design has not been yet prepared /drafted. Nazim of UC Kosht and elites of the area have appeal to high ups of irrigation department, planning commission Islamabad, Chief Secretary NWFP for issuance a directive to concern quarter to expedite work on the said irrigation channel with latest equipment for more improvement and to complete the work in stipulated period of time.

An emergency meeting was call upon here at the office of Nazim Union council Kosht under the chair of Nazim participated by all councilors and elites of the area. They expressed great concern over no implementation on their previous resolution dated 5 May, 2008 demanding for compensation. As due to no proper rain in summer season and drought standing crop and fodder was badly withered and dried. Besides it due to acute shortage of irrigation water the lands also remain barren and people of the area badly suffering due to acute shortage of grain and fodder for their cattle. Through an unanimous resolution they demanded from Provincial and district government as well as Non Government Organizations to compensated the calamity hit people of Union Council Kosht. They demanded of relief package for affected people of the area.
