NC attaches high priority to women’s empowerment: Lakshmi Dutta

Vijay Lakshmi Dutta, senior National Conference Women Wing leader has appealed to the people of the state and the women folk in particular to vote and support National Conference and its candidates during the ongoing assembly elections in the state. Lakshmi Dutta in a statement issued here today has said that "National Conference attaches high priority to the issue of women’s empowerment and the party after coming to power  shall ensure women’s equivalence with men in all fields of life including political, economical and social", she said adding that party  shall take all necessary measures to provide reservation to women folk in the Legislative Assembly and shall strengthen the Women’s Commission and other similar bodies for empowering the women folk of the state. The unholy alliance of Congress and PDP is responsible for the entire mess in the state; she said adding that the two political parties for their own vested interests left the people in lurch. "Congress-PDP misrule has brought miseries to the people of the state and even their basic needs have not been catered to by a defective incompetent delivery mechanism which was the outcrop of a defunct government". NC leader said political parties like PDP, Congress and the BJP have no agenda for the development of the state and only raise hollow slogans to befool the people during the elections. She urged the people to be watchful of the menacing designs of the political parties who during the elections make lot of promises, but do not deliver on them. "The party under the visionary leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah has chalked out an agenda for governance and the party has a dream for the people of the state; the dream is to transform the destiny of the people of the state, by empowering the common man, she said adding that in order to achieve this dream the party needs your support and said that "I urge you all to strengthen National Conference by casting your votes in favour of the party".
