NC-Congress coalition violating poll code of conduct :BJP

Jammu, April 28 (Scoop News) – The ongoing Panchayat elections in the J&K state can not be said to be held on non political basis. The ministers of NC-Congress coalition are openly campaigning for candidates and felicitating the winners. The administration is working at the wishes of the government. This was alleged by BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while addressing meeting of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists at party headquarters.

Manhas said that the government had declared to hold the elections to the Panchayats on non-political basis and as such it was expected that these elections will be held in fair and impartial manner without any  interference but there have been reports of violation of norms and procedure as the Ministers of the NC and Congress have been campaigning for the contesting candidates. There have reports that the concerned department too have adopted a complete silence over the complaints of malpractices.

Manhas said that certain forces in the state are working towards pushing the BJP into back foot as they can not digest the party’s popularity and respectable position in the hearts of the people. We are a party with difference and in practical it has been proved that it is the only party which never compromise on principles. Every effort was made during last few days to tarnish the image of BJP on the issue of cross voting but the decision of the party High Command has made it clear that it is principle-based  and not the chair hungry party.

Reacting sharply to the reports of move by the 3-member interlocutors to recommend grant of pre-1953 position to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Manhas said that the BJP has, during last 63 years, struggled hard and even made sacrifices for complete integration of the state with the Indian Union. The accession with India is final and NC, PDP and handful of separatists should stop day dreaming as such a thing will never be allowed to take place till even a single activists of BJP is alive in the state.

Manhas said that the refugees, farmers, educated youth, women, pensioners, government employees are agitating for fulfillment of their demands and mitigation of sufferings but no one in the present coalition has time to think about these sections. He declared to launch massive campaign against the policies of the government which are in no way healthy for the nation’s interests. He also advised the NC-Congress coalition to work towards solving the problems of the masses instead of indulging in appeasement of separatists.

BJYM State President Munish Sharma assured that its cadre is always at the back and call of the party. We appeal the youth of the state to strengthen the hands of BJP so that it is able to take up their cause more effectively. He called on the BJYM cadres to gear up to face  the challenges posed by some elements who  are working to tarnish the image of the party.

The meeting was also addressed by Aseem Gupta, Adarsh Bhagat and Parimoksh Seth.
