Srinagar, April 22, (Scoop News)- National Conference Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Working President Omar Abdullah and General Secretary Sheikh Nazir (Advocate) have condemned the killing of a Sarpanch, his young son and a Numberdar in Pulwama yesterday and extended their heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families.
Stating that innocent blood being spilled is unacceptable, the National Conference leaders have unequivocally condemned the politicization of such tragic incidents and said that an innocent life should be valued beyond the realm of political affiliations and ideologies.
The National Conference Provincial President for Kashmir, Nasir Aslam Wani has also expressed grief and sorrow at the tragic loss of lives in Pulwama and condemned the killings in strong terms.
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar, has condemned the killings of Sarpanch Ghulam Nabi Mir and his son Firdous Ahmad Mir, who were killed at Tral area of South Kashmir of Pulwama district by some unidentified persons yesterday.
Sagar said that the killing of Sarpanch is a barbaric act which should be condemned by one and all. He said such incidents are against humanity and these attacks on the elected representatives of people is a ploy to sabotage the smooth functioning of an institution meant for redressing the problems of the people at the grass root level.
The Minister also prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and hoped that the family would be able to bear the irreparable loss.
CPI (M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has strongly condemned the killing of village headman Mohammad Anwar sheikh of Amlar, Sarpanch Ghulam Nabi Mir and his son Firdous Ahmad of village Batagund in South Kashmir yesterday.
In a statement issued here today Tarigami said, “Such incidents are inhuman and unfortunate and the society must come out and express itself against such brutal acts of violence”. He said that violence in all its manifestations is condemnable as violence begets violence and urged that all voices should come together to condemn such acts of violence.
Expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, the CPI (M) leader has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to family members of the victims and demanded that those responsible for the reprehensible act must be immediately be brought to book.
