Dr. Jitendra Singh said it is not a simple coincidence that on a day when Pakistan violated all norms of international diplomatic conduct by bringing in a resolution which directly targets the inner sovereignty of republic of India, the Chief Minister of J&K was caught avoiding to discharge his constitutional and moral obligation to pay homage to slain CRPF Jawans because he apprehended that this could annoy the separatists and provide an issue to PDP to exploit in competitive Kashmir-centric upmanship. This clearly vindicates the view that NC-Led government has become a security risk, he alleged.
Questioning the NC demand for revocation of AFSPA at a time when military and para-military personnel are being repeatedly targeted by Pak sponsored militants, Dr. Jitendra Singh said if the Chief Minister and other leaders are genuinely convinced about improvement in security scenario, they should first set an example by surrendering their personal Z-category NSG security.
Dr. Jitendra Singh also raised a question mark on the silence of Congress party which is a coalition partner in J&K government and said Congress is guilty of “conspiracy of silence” because it is under directions from 10 Janpath to facilitate continuance of Omar government even it is at the caught of national interest.
Bali Bhagat, while condemning yesterday’s brutal lathi charge by J&K Police on the peacefully agitating BJP activists, including MLAs and women, said that the government should immediately order a high level inquiry to fix the responsibility against the erring police officials. He said that a total of 34 senior leaders, MLAs and party activists were lathi charged, out of which 20 were hospitalized in different hospitals of the city and 14 received minor injuries. He said that in one such incident of brutal lathi charge, a police officer of the rank of SHO acted in such a way that he was settling some personnel score with one of our activist. He warned the police not to allow its officials and men in Khaki to indulge in such acts failing which the party activists in thousands will be forced to come on streets to lodge protest.
