Jammu, April 05 (Scoop News) – Panun Kashmir, President Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo today said that the Indian government needs to take more proactive steps to wipe out terrorism from its soil. The judgment of the US court while convicting Gh. Nabi Fai, the sophisticated ISI-operator in US, for his illegal lobbying for Pakistan and declaration of award for Hafiz Syeed should expose the activities of fundamentalist-terrorist-ISI nexus in the pan Indian Territory.
He said that this nexus needs to be probed further to bring other over ground supporters to accountability. All those people, who sent letters of support to the US court for being lenient to Fai, owe an explanation to the country and in particular to the victims of terrorism and genocide in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ashwani Chrungoo, was addressing the meeting meeting of its Political Affairs Committee to review the recent political developments in the country and around..The meeting was chaired by Prof. M.L.Raina, Chairman, PAC and was attended among others by S/Shri Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President-PK, Virender Raina, National Spokesperson, Upinder Kaul, General Secretary, J.L.Kaul, Vice President, Kamal Bagati, Organising Secretary, Ramesh Kaul and Vijay Qazi. The meeting inter-alia discussed the recent announcement and judgment of the US administration and their effect on the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement Ashwani said that the American administration needs to be congratulated for going after the masterminds of terrorism in India directly. The recent announcement of bounty on the head of Hafiz Syeed, the brain behind the 26/11 carnage in Mumbai shows the renewed consciousness of the US think-tank and administration towards the issue of terrorism. The Mumbai carnage of 26/11 requires not to be seen in isolation so far as the complicity of ISI-Terror regime active in Pakistan is concerned. This terror regime active for the last thirty years in Pakistan has made Indian nation pay a heavy price.
Prof. M.L.Raina, Chairman, PAC said that it is ironic that a number of Indian intellectuals who attended Fai Seminars espoused Pakistan cause and ignored the real victims of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The Fai Seminar-circuit ensured that the secessionists in Kashmir continued to receive covert and overt support both morally and materially. All logistic help was given to them which included providing respectability to the secessionist-terror machinery in media, intellectual circles, public forums and sponsored programmes on human and civil rights. There is a need to explain to the nation as to how those connected with the Fai-circuit for the last twenty years manipulated and managed high profile government assignments.
Virender Raina, National Spokesperson while addressing the meeting said that the observations of the US court while sentencing Fai has also brought into cloud even the so-called Interlocutor report on Kashmir. These important developments surrounding the issue of terrorism should be an eye-opener to the government of India regarding its policy of engagement with Pakistan. All global terrorists who are tormenting the civilized world are camping in Pakistan under the ‘benevolent umbrella’ of ISI and enjoying the protection and munificence of Pakistan government. Panun Kashmir for the last more than twenty years has been continuously creating a national and global consciousness regarding the issues of terrorism and fundamentalism. Despite the presence of these terror networks, Panun Kashmir was able to garner the support of a vast majority of right thinking people across the world towards its just cause and would continue with its mission unabated.
