Srinagar, October 21 (Scoop News) – Minister for Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed Sunday underscored the need for providing ample opportunities for excelling in various academic and extra co-circular activities both within and outside the State.
The Minister was addressing “Annual Grand Award Ceremony”organized by Newkight Education & Environmental Service foundation New Light Education & Enviroemntal society(NEESF-NEES) and held at SKICC, Peerzada said that the function is a part of the programme aimed at talent search. He said that State Government has always encouraged such activities from time to time so that window is opened for budding youth to excel at State and National levels.
Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment Abdul Gani Malik, Vice Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority Khawaja Farooq Renzushah, Director Social Welfare, Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, prominent educationist Dr. A. G. Madhosh, parents, teachers and a good number of students were present on the occasion.
Peerzada said that the talent is present among the students of the State but need is to channelize it in such a way so that they can compete at national and international levels. He said that various programmes have been launched in the State to provide quality education to the students at their doorsteps adding that the central government is providing liberal funds under education sector.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Higher Education Malik lauded the role of Private partners in education and said that government cannot do alone the best if it is not supported by the private partners in education. He emphasized upon one and all to strive for the best so that our new generation becomes an intelligent community on whose shoulders we rely upon and hope that they will make the nation strong for its future progress and prosperity.
Malik said that it is the responsibility of the teachers to provide better counseling to the wards to choose the option for taking up the desirous stream.He said Government has opened numerous agencies for the student community to choose their career and it is need of hour to put each student in proper stream.
Malik appreciated the organization for conducting such examinations. He asked them to conduct such examinations in future also in the state so that the hidden talent of the students of the state especially belonging to far flung areas will be explored.
Vice Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority Khawaja Farooq Renzushah in his speech highlighted the achievements of the government particularly in education sector.
Director Social Welfare, Kashmir, Bhat in his speech appreciated the effort put in by the NEESF organization for conducting talent search tests and providing an opportunities to excel in their favourite subjects. On this occasion, Bhat gave resume of the welfare schemes launched by the government for the upliftment of deserving persons of the State. He appealed the people to take benefit of the schemes aimed at providing succor to poor and downtrodden. He said several new initiatives have been taken by the government to extend on-line facilities to the beneficiaries regarding disbursement of relief to aged, widows, physically challenged and also pre and post matric scholarship to the poor students.Prominent Educationist Dr.A. G. Madhosh also spoke on the occasion.
Later, the Minister distributed awards to the best performers of the year 2011. Mariya Mushtaq was awarded with first prize, Rufaida Aslam second and Afreen Ahmed was awarded third prize by the dignitaries for performing best in the year 2011.
