The widespread news of an armed police constable’s death attributed to a bomb-like powerful computer explosion in Nepal has surprised many. Kedar Kafle, an armed police constable based in Birgunj Customs Office has died of the incident on Tuesday.
Reports state that the victim was switching on the computer when it exploded.
The Deputy Superintendent of the Armed Police Force (AFP) Hari Krishna Khadka and Sub-Inspector Rama Lama were also reported injured.
No authentic source has yet confirmed if an improvised explosive device (IED) was hidden inside the computer. The police sources say only the ongoing investigation will further clarify the whats, hows and whys of the incident.
Birgunj is a city characterized by notorious smuggling activities and wide customs tax evasions.
