Nepal’s casino workers and employees have been chanting slogans against Home Minister Bamdev Gautam accusing him of asking for bribes through his security officials.
Home Minister personally sent his police to raid Casino anna at night a few days ago. Casino workers and employees were beaten and mistreated. Protesting such a behavior by the home minister’s force, they have been protesting in the streets for a couple of days.
They openly say in the streets that Home Minister Gautam asked for a bribe of four million rupees.
Gautam, when he was the home minister in 1995, was accused of accepting a bribe of rupees five million from the proprietor of Casino Nepal R D Tutle.
Vehicles were halted in Kathmandu for two hours due to the protests of thousands of Casino workers in Kathmandu.
Home Minister Bamdev Gautam belongs to the Unified Marxist-Leninist (UML), a party that has vowed to exterminate all Maoists from Nepal because people voted for Maoists, who emerged as the largest party in the country.
