Nepotism in the Basílica of Guadalupe

Sources reported that is being discovered publicly the relationship between Alberto Monroy Calva, member of the Consejo Económico del Consejo Episcopal Mexicano and the owner of the controversial company Certificados Integrales Funcionales (CIF) and Monsignor Enrique Glennie, Abbot of the Basílica de Guadalupe.

Through this relationship, Mr. Alberto Monroy managed to put on the powerful structure of the Basilica de Guadalupe to his nephew, Julián Hernández, that it serve as marketing manager of burial niches in the Mariana Plaza, built by Carlos Slim. All this accepted and approved by his partner, Monsignor Glennie, who even allowed Julián Hernández to live in one of the exclusive houses for priests and clerics who are close to the Basílica.

The idea of both is the massive marketing of 120,000 funeral niches at $25,000 pesos each, in order to "people can cry to their girlfriends", in the words of Monsignor Glennie.

This partnership between this two persons is not new. There was some businesses of real estate developments both in the Tlalpan delegation. This is confirmed by the Registro Público de la Propiedad of the D.F., by the folio real 9038404. This document mentions the co-ownership of a property of 2,500 square meters for a development between Alberto Monroy Calva and Monsignor Enrique Glennie Glau.

Alberto Monroy Calva seeks to continue its economic power in the business of the Mexican Catholic Church, thanks not only to its proximity with Monsignor Glennie, but its close business relationship with Bishop Onésimo Cepeda. Are the Mexican Catholic Church aware of these acts? Victims or accomplices?
