Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro announced they were in talks for a new boxing movie. The movie is called “Grudge Match” and was written by Entourage creator Doug Ellin. This time it’s not a “Rocky” kind of thing. No botox, no dramatic workout, no real boxers. It’s a comedy about two retired boxers who return to the ring for a final match. According to perez hilton, Warner Bros has not yet confirmed the realization of the project. Sly recently announced this time, it will be his “final” boxing movie.
Stallone recently criticized the new era of action heroes, “This genre unfortunately is becoming… let’s just say it’s fading away. You have the superheroes today which are possessed with all extraordinary powers, they can blink and a fireball comes out of there. It’s great. And then you have a bunch of us which is just your basic male-pattern badness… Kind of like hands-on action. And Yes, it’s true. The good action movies like Rambo, Die hard… are fading away. “People got used to the image of marvel heroes. They want to see lasers and fireballs. That’s the new era. And there’s nothing You can do about it,” Tom Landers ( Director ) explained in an interview. “Stallone will always be an action hero, but he’s aging, too.”
But this time it is different, no action movie, but a good old fashioned comedy. Rocky vs Raging Bull sounds a lot like box office gold.
