The Autonomous Tharuhat National Council has formed Tharuhat Liberation Army in the far-western region, Kailali district to mark the rights of their indigenous group. Laxman Tharu alias Roshan founded the Council where he is the chairman of the council. Previously, he was a member of the Communist Party Nepal (CPN) Maoist where he was deflected from the party following the differences with the party’s top leadership. Tharuhat Liberation Army has vowed to fight fortheir poeple where Liberation of Tharu people and establishment of Tharuhat province in federal Nepal are their major voices. The newly formed armed outfit has also warned that it would not back away from carrying out any kind of physical action against those involved in oppression of the Tharu people.
