A recent poll released by Associated Press/Yahoo shows that presumed GOP presidential nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona is gaining solid ground. So far, it would look as if McCain is reducing the momentum that was valuable to Democratic co-frontrunner Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.
In the past, Obama had chipped away at McCain’s voters. He had appealed to independents, disgruntled Republicans, and moderate Democrats. However, for this moment, the polls show that the tables are being turned on Obama. Those same people that were most likely to support Obama are now going towards McCain.
McCain’s image as become savory, amidst the fighting between Democratic hopefuls Clinton and Obama as they still looking for the Democratic Party’s nomination.
It also shows as Clinton’s negative rating increases, things become more favorable for McCain. As Obama and Clinton continue fighting, more people are turning towards McCain. Ultimately, McCain is the one benefiting from the continued warring between Clinton and Obama.
However, this is still the middle of April. Things can change come May, June, July, August, and so forth. While polls say that McCain is gaining solid ground, it will ultimately depend on the voters themselves.
