New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman is not in danger of being fired

New York City New York. New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, 47, current contract with the team will expire at the end of the 2014 baseball season. Cashman is not likely to be relieved of his duties if the Yankees fail to make the postseason for the second straight season.

Cashman succeeded Bob Watson as the general manager of the Yankees in 1998. A source close to the New York Yankees organization said that Cashman will be offered a new contract at the conclusion of the current baseball season.

It is not Cashman’s fault that some of the players of the Yankees have suffered injuries that have placed on the shelf during the 2014 baseball season or failed to help the Yankees win enough baseball games to be the leaders of the American League East this baseball season.

Before the start of the baseball games on Thursday, the Yankees are in second place in the American League Eastern Division 9.5 games behind the Baltimore Orioles who are the division leaders. The Yankees would not make the playoffs as a wild card entry since the Oakland Athletics and Detroit Tigers have better regular season records at this time.

If Cashman’s contract would be renewed at the end of the 2014 baseball season which is highly unlikely, the Yankees management would have to find a replacement general manager to rebuild the Yankees franchise for years to come. Good luck finding another Brian Cashman type of general manager.
