New Zealand was given a target of 163 by India. New Zealand reached it comfortably with Brendon McCullum scoring a unbeaten half century, 56 of 49 balls.
McCullum (56*) held up one end and played a good, patient innings with Guptill (41), Taylor (31) and Oram (29*) hitting the boundaries from the other end.
Other than Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh, no other Indian bowler was able to show any discipline in their bowling.
New Zealand is now 1-0 up in the two match T-20 series. It will be a great morale boosting victory for the Kiwis who have started this long and hard series on a winning note.
Dhoni and India will be disappointed with this effort and will look to turn things around as soon as possible, beginning with the second T20 in two days time.
