As I was driving along the expressway on 6 January 2009, I had witnessed a van set ablazed, fire burning fiercely. I was incidentally on the other side of the expressway as you can see from the photograph.
The van was stopped along PIE towards Changi Airport near Old Police Academy (Old PA) and according to The New Paper, the fire was caused by an explosion. The driver was not hurt and the fire was extinguished eventually by the fire fighter of the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
