An NGO has been launched in Azad Kashmir in order to strengthen the efforts for the betterment of social- economic conditions of populace of rural and marganziled areas of the region.
ANWAR KOUSAR SOCIAL ASSOCIATION FOR WELFARE (AKSAW) has been established to incorporate global perspectives of human development in local system, Meraj Alam, the founder President of organization told local media.
He said that the mission of the AKSAW was to deliver long lasting impact on the lives of people especially those suffering in misery through striving for provision of rights, opportunities and an idyllic environment.
It is worth mentioning that a large number of International relief agencies and NGOs have left their operations in Azad Kashmir where citizens of devastated four districts have not been able to restore their normal life due to lack of basic amenities.
Meraj Alam informed that the AKSAW would concentrate its intervention in improvement of health, education through sustainable development and protection of indigenous cultural heritage.
He said that initially the organization will operate in the District Muzaffarabad and the circle of operational area would be extended to other Districts of AJK and
The membership of the organization would be open to any person who will Support the aims and objectives of the organization. Membership shall be granted by the President of organization.
In the meantime, as part of its humanitarian efforts the AKSAW presented donation worth of fifty thousands to Prime Minster of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Yaqoob for relief fund for the welfare of internal displaced people (IDPs) of Swat valley.
Founder of AKSAW Meraj Alam handed over the donation to premier in his office. Minister Choudhary Rashid, Renowned ecologist and pattern of AKSAW Aftab Alam and Amir Udin Mughal were also present on the occasion.
Talking on this occasion Prime Minster lauded the mission of AKSAW and hoped that it would play a vital role in the betterment of rural areas of Azad Kashmir.
